SPINS AND SPIRALS

February 24, 2006 | by Natalie Caine | 3 Comments

I have been cheering and holding on as I watched the Olympics. I remember my daughter in the den with our quick
dinners and friends sitting on the floor.

In my empty nest now, I am inspired by the athlete

With all due respect for your “cause.”

It is inappropriate as to where your links are on the intranet

Thank you for this site and this blog entry. This one REALLY speaks to me!! I have just found your site. My 17 year old son (18 in 6 weeks) has moved out two weeks ago. He is living with his best friend in a house that the best friend’s father bought for them to live in and fix up and later sell. He just got a job, he wrapped up his senior year a few weeks ago. I went from having 5 or 6 teenage boys in my house every night, in and out, in and out, in and out, making a mess, eating everything in site, leaving dishes all over the house, etc, to …..complete and utter silence!! Now, I have PLENTY to do: I am an artist, I have nearly 300 movies in the house, many many friends (tho they all live about 25 miles away!)….I am still….stunned in the silence. I’m crying at random moments….all I have to do is talk about it….I am about to turn 40, too, the day before my son turns 18. It’s a big time for me!!! Well, at least he isn’t leaving the country for London as I did after my 18th birthday! Gosh, I think back, my poor mother!! This mother role is tough. I definitely acknowledge I need support right now. Thank you for your web site and your writings. I’ll be tuning in daily!!!!
